5000 BTUH Vortex A/C™ Offers Two-Stage Cooling Protection
07/01/2008 New Energy-saving Model Outperforms Refrigerant-based Air Conditioners

Vortec has introduced its latest model to their lineup of UL listed, Vortex A/C™ cooling systems for electrical enclosures. Requiring only a compressed air supply to operate, the Vortex A/C quickly installs on electrical control panels to maintain enclosure temperatures within a range of 80° to 90°F (27° to 32°C). The new 5000 BTUH Vortex A/C model features dual vortex tube cooling units, each with its own reliable mechanical thermostat to provide two-stage levels of refrigeration. To conserve energy, the first stage offers 2500 BTUH cooling capacity and, if needed, a second stage activates to double the supply of refrigerated air to the enclosure. At a fraction of the size and cost of a refrigerant-based air conditioner, the Vortex A/C provides reliable, below-ambient cooling in environments up to 175°F (79°C). The “no-downtime”, maintenance-free units incorporate vortex tube technology to convert filtered compressed air into a low pressure, refrigerated air stream distributed throughout the enclosure. Refrigerated air entering the cabinet provides a light positive purge to seal out contaminants, while hot air is expelled through a relief valve. Even when the Vortex A/C cycles off, a “purge-air port” can be opened to create a slight positive pressure in the cabinet to keep out dust and dirt. As with other cooling capacity models, the 5000 BTUH unit is suitable for NEMA Type 4 and 4X rated electrical cabinets, and can be mounted on the top or side of the enclosure.

Quiet, No-Maintenance Enclosure Cooling
04/06/2006 Avoid Downtime with the New Alternative to Costly Air Conditioners

Vortec has just introduced its new, UL listed, Vortex A/C cooling system for electrical enclosures. The super quiet Vortex A/C is the all-new alternative to expensive air conditioners. Just as quiet as an air conditioner (about 62 dBA), the Vortex A/C noise level is 93% less than other conventional, vortex type cabinet cooling devices. Three models deliver 900, 1500 or 2500 BTUH of refrigeration, at a fraction of the size and cost of an air conditioner. The patent pending design features an integral thermostat to maintain enclosure temperatures within a range of 80° to 90°F (27° to 32°C), and is suitable for NEMA Type 4 and 4X rated electrical cabinets. Requiring only a compressed air supply to operate, the Vortex A/C quickly installs in a 1.5 inch knockout hole to keep electrical control panels cool, clean and protected. The no-downtime, maintenance-free units incorporate vortex tube technology to convert filtered compressed air into a low pressure, refrigerated air stream distributed throughout the enclosure. Refrigerated air entering the cabinet provides a light positive purge to seal out contaminants, while hot air is expelled through a relief valve. Withstanding extreme conditions, the weatherproof, corrosion-resistant, Vortex A/C will provide reliable cooling operation in environments up to 175°F (79°C). They are approved to mount on the top or side of the enclosure.

Air Nozzles with Lifetime Warranty
09/05/2005 Energy-saving Design Uses Less Compressed Air

Vortec is now offering a line of air amplifying nozzles that are backed by a lifetime warranty. The DuraBlast Lifetime nozzles are adjustable-thrust, fully cleanable air nozzles that will never need replacing because of clogging. The nozzle design forces compressed air through an adjustable gap that accelerates airflows, entraining surrounding air as it exits the nozzle. Airflow volumes from the nozzles are up to 25 times more than the input air supplied, allowing lower compressed air usage to achieve the same thrust. The OSHA compliant, DuraBlast nozzles are offered in aluminum or stainless steel, with positionable flex hose or copper tube mountings available. A single set screw allows easy cleaning and micrometer-style adjustment of thrust for any blow-off cleaning, cooling or drying application.

Easy, Affordable Enclosure Cooling
03/29/2005 Panel Guard Vortex Coolers Offer Thermal Protection

Vortec's line of Vortex Cooler enclosure cooling systems include two unique models for NEMA 4 rated electrical cabinets. The Panel Guard models feature an integral mechanical thermostat to maintain enclosure temperatures within a range of 80° to 90°F (27° to 32°C). Requiring only a compressed air supply to operate, the Panel Guard cooler quickly installs in a 1.5 inch knockout hole to keep electrical control panels cool, clean and protected. An affordable, maintenance-free alternative to air conditioners, the compact (only 6.75 inches tall when mounted) Coolers incorporate vortex tube technology to convert filtered compressed air into a low pressure, refrigerated air stream distributed throughout the enclosure. Refrigerated air entering the cabinet provides a light positive purge to seal out contaminants, while hot air is expelled through a relief valve. The UL-listed Panel Guard models deliver 1500 or 2500 BTUH of refrigeration.
